Gathering in Grace, Growing in Faith, Going with love
Garden of Peace
All are welcome to garden with us! The Community Garden of Peace was created in 2009 during the recession as an idea of the Victory Gardens during WWII where families ate mostly from their gardens. The 22, 8’X18′ size plots have 6 plots with two raised beds in each and the remaining 16 are regular garden plots. We offer a suggested donation for the use of the plots of $25 for non-raised beds and $40 for raised beds ($5.00 less for seniors), but no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
Please call the church if you are interested at 253-927-3301, Monday-Thursday 9:00-1:00pm. Or email at churchoffice@resurrectionlutherantacoma.org
Community garden updates
Grant Accomplishment: Supplies for making the children’s raised beds and the new Potting Bench are primarily paid for through a 2022 grant from the Tacoma Garden Club. Bill crafted the Potting Bench (HUGE THANK YOU TO BILL) and those who helped with the raised beds. We had a deadline to accomplish these projects by May 15th and they are now complete!
Harvest Pierce County: You should all have access to the Community Garden site in Pierce County that provides classes, resources, and much more for all of us to enjoy. Go to https://piercecd.org/190/Urban-Agriculture
