Worship

At Resurrection Lutheran Church in Tacoma, worship services are casual and comfortable.

We celebrate our worship through the Word and Sacraments. Most services at Resurrection Lutheran Church will include songs, readings from the Bible, a message delivered by our Pastor, offering, Holy Communion and a sending blessing.

We project the words to music and responses to prayers on the wall to help us all participate in worship. We take a short break to “share the peace” during many worship services and at that time we will greet each other and any visitors to our church. After the service, we serve coffee and cookies and visit some more.

Children at Resurrection can be seen and heard.  The joy and wonder of our children is a vital part of our worship experience.  We  offer JAM, “Jesus and Me,” for child-paced activities during the sermon. Children are also  welcomed and engaged through a weekly children’s message and “Noisy Offering.”  Our Joy Choir, for children 2-7, also sings regularly in worship.  (See our choir page on this website.)

We are a Reconciled in Christ community of faith. As such, we uphold the words of the Apostle Paul:  “In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female.”  (Galatians 3:28)  Christ has made us all one.  We believe that this oneness extends to all persons regardless of gender identity, race, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identities, or religious, economic, or political affiliation.
